Need help with kitchen remodel
I am getting into remodelling.
My house is a fixer upper and I am fixing it! I started out doing all the work myself to save money.
My master bathroom was me just working my butt off and having my dad help me on more technical things like HVAC, plumbing and electric. It made the project take twice as long and was extremely stressful. I am now doing my kitchen and I will not do that. I am going to spend more money hiring out this time. I have a window above my kitchen sink that I want to expand. I also want to move the kitchen doorway. I won’t make my bed mess with that. I also want to have a ductless mini split in the kitchen. I read online that a homeowner could do this installation if they wanted. You need to drill a hole in the side of the house and feed wires and refrigerant tubes though. No way am I messing with that. My dad is good with heating and ac, but he isn’t a HVAC contractor. I think it will be worth hiring a real HVAC technician to ensure the job is done right. Additionally, while the guy is doing that job, I will have time to do other things. I am hoping my kitchen remodel won’t take 8 months like my bathroom did. It was getting to the point where I wanted to scream because of how long it was taking. I am hopeful that hiring out the work will mean it is done better than what my dad and I could do. You never know though.
